SUMMARY:Bacchus House summer Oz theme in Folsom\, CA
DESCRIPTION:A tribute exhibit to Wizard of Oz made of memorabilia and nostalgia is on display this summer at the Bacchus House in Folsom\, California. The public can enjoy this celebration of Oz from June 25 20 August 31 during business hours. \nIn addition\, two five-course wine-paired dinners will be held to raise money for Shriners Children’s Northern California. Both dinners also will include a silent auction\, live music\, and champagne receptions. These dinners are scheduled at 6:30 July 14 and August 11. See their website for details. \nBacchus House hours are Tuesday-Saturday 11:30-2 p.m. (lunch). 4-6 p.m. (happy hour)\, 4-9 p.m. (dinner)\, Sunday 4-6 pm. They are closed Mondays.

SUMMARY:Lost Princess of Oz - a new ballet
DESCRIPTION:The Axelrod Contemporary Ballet Theater offers the world premier of a new ballet\, The Lost Princes of Oz. \nL. Frank Baum continues the adventures of Dorothy from Kansas\, Glinda the Good Witch\, and the Wizard himself as they search for Princess Ozma to recover the magic stolen from Oz. In this fantastical tale\, Baum introduces new characters including the Frogman\, the Patchwork Girl\, the clock man Tik-Tok\, and\, of course\, the talking (singing) hen\, played by Reagan Richards of the popular country duo Williams Honor. Gordon Brown\, also of Williams Honor\, portrays Baum. \nThis multimedia dance musical from the Axelrod Contemporary Ballet Theater is directed by Gabriel Chajnik with a libretto based on Baum by Shannon Hill and an exciting original score by Chris Becker\, whose Appalachian-inspired composition is infused with country fiddles and bluegrass banjoes! \nPreview Performance: Fri. Aug. 19 @ 6pm\nSat. Aug. 20 @ 7:30pm\nSun. Aug. 21 @ 2pm & 7pm\nFri. Aug. 26 @ 7:30pm\nSat. Aug. 27 @ 2pm\nSun.
