Have you ever wanted to try an antique Oz board game, but you don’t want to potentially damage your valuable collectible? Now, you don’t have to run the risk! Over the past year, our Baum Bugle editor-in-chief Sarah Crotzer has been digitizing rare, vintage Oz board games to play online with friends. The occasional Game Night here at OzClub.org will invite you to join her or other hosts around a virtual table to play. Someof our games include: 1921’s The Wonderful Game of Oz 1939’s The Game of The Wizard of Oz 1968’s Off to See the Wizard game To play or watch, you’ll need to use a computer – not a phone – and register for free access to the Steam platform. After registration, you will need to find and purchase Tabletop Simulator (a $19.99 purchase). Along with her individual game tutorials, Sarah has created a special video guide to using Tabletop Simulator (bottom video below). PLEASE watch this short video before you arrive to play the games. Four editors of the Oz Club journal share their memories and milestones. Our current editor-in-chief Sarah Crotzer talks with past editors Michael Gessel, Atticus Gannaway, and Scott Cummings about their years in the editor’s seat. Their work drove many of the changes that the Bugle has seen since 1957 — when 13-year-old Justin Schiller stapled his typed pages together and mailed them off to his fledgling group of 16 members.
Garrett Kilgore and Sarah Crotzer (current Editor-in-Chief of the Baum Bugle) discuss Return to Oz content in past issues of the International Wizard of Oz Club’s publication.
