It’s always cool to see a piece of international Oz (or whatever you might collect) collectibles. I’ve always found the packaging to be of interest, even on modern stuff. The art work, the writing, it really makes a great display piece but then I fall into the category of “do I open this or get one to open and one to keep in the box?”
When it’s brand new things that are easy to find, I often used to buy three! So I had one to display, one to use, and one I could sell later if it appreciated in value. I don’t anymore. I rarely buy anything new now, preferring to hang onto my cash for vintage material. Plus it just took up too much space to have so much duplicate material.
I can totally understand that & that was a good idea. New items are pretty nice, but there’s just something about vintage items that make them worth the cost. Especially with something like Oz that has many decades of merchandise there’s so much to choose from or just look at and enjoy.
