I recently finished reading the comic book series Fables. While it deals with several well known fairy tale characters, the Oz crew has been on the sides & later in major stories. I’ve always wondered what happened to Dorothy & in what I’ve recently read she became quite the tough one. Not exactly a hero mind you, but it was an interesting take on the character.

Fables reminds me of Once Upon a Time in that it had some great backstory. Definitely worth reading if you enjoyed that show & are looking for an interesting read. It was released under the company Vertigo, which put out a bit more serious books like Sandman.
