Is anyone a fan of the comic book Fables? I’ve been rereading them since the series will be coming out again in June & I’ve been enjoying them, especially the Oz references that happen later on in the series. View

When I was younger & collected comics more, I used to come across an Oz comic from this company called Caliber (one of the publishers of The Crow). It was a black and white independent book, which at the time I planned on getting eventually but of course never did. I’ve heard good things but yet to track it down.

A company called Hand of Doom comics did a cross over with Peter Pan, Alice in Wonderland and The Wizard of Oz, but I was only able to find one or two comics and I wasn’t enjoying it very much.

The great comic book Fables (which is a really great book if you love fairy tales) has the Oz characters in it, though one of the flying monkeys didn’t get his moment to later on in the series) is definitely a joy.

Marvel Comics run on Oz with Eric Shanower and Skottie Young was great. I love how Skottie Young drew OZ, it was like his art work was made for the characters.

I want to track down The Legend of Oz: Wicked West as a graphic novel if I can, I hear it is good.

Does anyone else have any Oz related comic books they could recommend?

    • Captain Carrot: The Oz Wonderland War is a lot of fun, and possibly the most book accurate original Oz comic ever made.
