Michael Gessel pens a a short biographical sketch of the fourth Royal Historian of Oz, Jack Snow. This is followed by a comprehensive checklist of Jack Snow’s published work in books, newspapers, periodicals, and advertisements, compiled by Ruth Berman, and Jack Snow‘s own proposed letter to parents for inclusion in the 1955 reprint of The Tin Woodman of Oz.
Peter E. Hanff examines correspondence between Snow, prominent Oz fans, and Reilly & Lee editors to tell the story of Jack Snow’s brief time as a Royal Historian, as well as the decline in health that robbed him of the job and eventually led to his early death.
