“Planet in a Panic Over Queer Visitor”

Not just one but a series of “interplanetary telegrams” written by L. Frank Baum for the Philadelphia North American from August 18 to August 28, 1904. This is followed by the full-page “Proclamation Extraordinary” that heralded the arrival of Queer Visitors from the Marvelous Land of Oz on August 28, 1904.

Costume Wizardry in Return to Oz
