Spring 1993 Selected Contents

This is a guide to the articles and reviews from the issue that will most benefit researchers, scholars, and collectors. The printed issue includes additional content such as news, editorial letters, and other commentary-based departments.

The Little Wizards of Oz

Lynne Smith previews the new animated series, Little Wizard Stories (which was eventually distributed as The Oz Kids), with interview quotes from producer and Oz collector Willard Carroll. The article includes several character model sheets as illustrations.

“Dear Mr. Baum”: Letters to “The Royal Historian of Oz”

A selection of letters sent to L. Frank Baum by children, apparently originally compiled for a pamphlet advertising Rinkitink in Oz in 1917. This article is followed by the reproduction of a letter written by Maud—as Frank, on his stationary—responding to a young reader in early 1920.

An Interview with Paul Taylor

Barbara Arnstein speaks with director and choreographer Paul Taylor about his new production, Oz, which is featured on the back cover.

In Memoriam

Rob Roy MacVeigh (artist, Baum Bugle contributor, and Oziana illustrator).
