The Missing Chapters of The Shaggy Man of Oz
Michael Gessel introduces the two existing chapters from Jack Snow‘s unfinished draft of The Shaggy Man of Oz. Chapters 7 and 8 are presented in the format of a Reilly & Lee Oz book, with new illustrations by Mark Manley in the style of Frank Kramer, by permission of Snow’s family.

Lee that talks about her early encounter with Oz, her idea for a new adaptation of The Sea Fairies, and the process of creating that book, Sea Sirens, with writer Amy Chu. W. Neal Thompson presents a comprehensive bibliographical sketch of the life and work of Harry Otis Kennedy, who served as illustrator of Baum’s Army Alphabet and Navy Alphabet. Several examples of his work are provided, including a full-color reconstruction of his cover for an issue of The Shop Window as this issue’s internal front cover.
Y’all Got It!: Reorchestrating the Magic of The Wiz
This interview with musical director Sean Green and actor Cameron Bernard Jones focuses on the rewarding challenge of bringing a new vision of the classic Broadway show to the UK stage. Their production (with Hope Mill Theatre) is reviewed elsewhere in this issue.
