OZland Festival in Peekskill: Show, Dancing and a Wizard of Oz Cruise

August 21 - August 30

The sixth OZland Festival will take place over six days this year. The agenda, organized by Antonia Arts, will expand to multiple locations throughout the city.

Friday, Aug. 21, 6 to 8 p.m.,(community room at 801 South Street) A musical performance by the youth group Wiz Kidz. Admission will be donations at the door.

Saturday, Aug. 22, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. (The Fire House on Main Street.) Free line-dancing workshop; attendees must register in advance with instructor Steve Dillard.

Saturday continues 2-4 p.m. (BeanRunner Cafe) A variety show, Oz Talent Time! Admission: donations at the door.

Sunday, Aug. 23, 1 p.m. (The Field Library) MGM’s 1939 film The Wizard of Oz will be screened.

Thursday, Aug. 27,  noon-2 p.m. (dining rooms of Cortlandt Colonial Restaurant)  Luncheon with a repeat performance by the youth theater group Wiz Kidz. $25/diner. Organized by the Peekskill Rotary Club.

Sunday, Aug. 30, 3 p.m.-5 p.m. Cruise the waters of the Hudson River aboard the Emerald Princes. The vessel will depart from and return to the Fleischmann Pier Park. Plans include live music, food service, and appearances by Oz characters from the novel. Tickets: $50 for individuals, $75 for family of three people.This immersive activity replaces the large gatherings in public parks that characterized previous years’ events.
